Happy New Year, 2008!

Another year went by...
This Winter has been a cold one in Colorado. We are in the process of packing to move. This means that every time we come across something that hasn't been used in a while, we ask ourselves a question "keep or donate?" This became a routine in our house. It is rather refreshing to offload some of the junk. One man's trash is another man's treasure, right?..

On the evening of New Year, Larissa and I headed out to the Russian store to get some treat, but unfortunately, because this Holiday is so big in Russia, the store was closed. We opted for the next best thing, Albertson's grocery store.
We got lots of things like shrimp, cheesecake, and even a bottle of sparkling apple cider. All ready to meet the New Year with a bang!

Bang we did! Instead of waiting till midnight, we popped all of our poppers and crackers at 9:00pm. That was a good thing too, because none of the kids was able to stay up that late!

I knew that I would be in big trouble if I didn't at least try waking them up, so I did. I also knew better to take a picture, so that I would have a proof!
Of course, the next morning they all denied watching the ball drop at midnight. None of them remembered it! Good thing I had this photo!

A couple of days later we also made sure to stop by Larissa's doctor's office and get a new prescription. Who knows when we will be able to get a new specialist in Oregon?..
